Painting exterior windows and masonry without the need of scaffolding!
A professional window restorer or French polisher believes that sash window replacement should be a last resort; it should only be carried out when the condition of the window has deteriorated beyond repair.
Why paint your windows?
After 4-5 years, your sash windows can often start to look faded or the paint will have begun to flake or peel. This can lead to an unattractive appearance and to paint getting stuck in the sash runners, making your window creaky and difficult to open or close
Keep your sash windows in good condition with a 10 year guarantee; using high quality paint, they can be given a fresh, clean look, repainted and re-polished to protect them from the elements.
How long does it take?
A normal sash window re-paint should take around 4-5 hours. With minimum intrusion, we aim to complete two sash windows per day, taking time to achieve a professional finish.
If the damage is severe or paintwork restoration is extensive, it may take a little longer.
Why French polish a window?
French polishing is a method of carefully applying several thin layers of polish, allowing time for each layer to thoroughly dry. This creates a highly polished appearance with long term durability; it also protects the wood from exposure to extremes of weather conditions.
A skilled French polish on a timber surface can extend both the look and the health of the timber.
