When to replace a window
If repairing and painting your windows is not possible, due to extensive timber or sash damage or constant repair work replacement, as a last resort, may be the only option.
There can be planning permission issues when replacing older features. Our joiners are master craftsmen with years of experience creating replica window boxes and sashes to comply with local planning laws.
Why replace your window
Replacing your sash windows, if this is the only viable choice, will give you safe, long lasting, attractive windows in pristine condition, with a 5 year guarantee. This is usually more practical than quick fix measures that are likely to lead to unsatisfactory sealing and more expense.
Double glazing, for extra warmth and sound proofing, is a standard feature with all our newly fitted sash windows.
Two types of sash window replacements:
We would advise which of these options are best for you, saving on unnecessary cost. If complete refurbishment is needed, this would only be undertaken if both elements are beyond repair.
Your old window will be replaced with solid timber frames and glazing bars with original or matched mouldings. New windows are exact replicas, primed, painted and draught proofed before they leave our workshop.
Sashwindow-repairs are renowned as the top choice for the conservation home owner who may need planning consent.
